I've gotten word from the fine people responsible for the film "Farah Goes Bang" that Lumpy has been featured in the movie's soundtrack. I'm not quite sure in what capacity yet, but this is great news. Farah Goes Bang premiered last night at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York!

Well the past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy and I was starting to doubt that I would get a b-side finished this week.
BUT I DID!

This week's song is an oldie. Not sure how to describe it but it's a quirky dark sound with some rock and reggae type dealies happening. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I don't know. You can just listen and tell me.

I wrote it while recording "From Wilderness Cove" in 2009. The original version was put out on the "Lumpy Reggae EP" but I wanted to update it for the following full-length release. Then "Life, Man" came and went and it didn't end up there either. So it's getting shoved onto "Reeejected".

Can you believe we are already into week 4 of these b-side shenanigans?! It feels like it's MAYBE the end of week three. Man time flies huh?

Well this week is a track that has NEVER BEEN HEARD BEFORE! I completely re-recorded it this past week. It was originally going to go on "Life, Man" and started off more reminiscent of a 90's rock song. I changed that drastically. The new version is supposed to be a throw back to the Bryan Rock days. There are only a few people that will understand what that means, so don't think about it too hard.
If you listen all the way through to the end you will hear a sample of what the song could have been. I know that these days 4:03 is a SUUPPPPER long time for people to focus, especially when it doesn't involve their eyes, so the decision is in YOUR HANDS (ears).

If you're just joining us, every Thursday I've been putting up b-sides that didn't make it onto the previous Lumpy albums.

This week's is another song that started as a demo years ago called "Gray Light". A version of it was intended to end up on "Life, Man" but for one reason or another that didn't happen. I've recently finished up the recording and you will find it below.

Hey thanks for accidentally finding your way to this site. I hope by the end of your time spent here you will have been able to form a hardline opinion about it all.

Last week I began to release BSides onto an album called "Reeejected".

The second release for the Lumpy B-Sides album "Reeejected" is a track called "What Does It Take?". It started off as a much different sounding demo from a long time ago. You can hear the original version in the "Original Lumpy Demos". (Pretty intuitive I hope)

This version is much newer and has no place to go but the B-Sides album. So here it is

I have been working on finishing up some songs that never made it on the 2 Lumpy albums. I plan to release them over the coming weeks. Check back on Thursdays for the new releases!

This first one is a song I wrote back in Uni called "I Guess Humans Move Too Slow". The music from it was used on KSFR Santa Fe Public Radio for the "Sitcom" "Seriously Funny" written by Ron Bloomberg.

It's just kind of been hanging around in various forms for years now and I never really wanted to do anything with it. IT'S ABOUT TIME. So here it is:

Noogies is my band here in Minneapolis. We have recently recorded 3 demo songs so that we can get some shows. They are new versions of older songs featuring "David Byrne" by Casey Stohrer, "Cleo" which was from a 2004 Bryan Rock album, and "Honesty" from the Lumpy album "Life, Man". We didn't want to record any new stuff so that we can save it for the live show and the full-length. Hopefully we'll have some shows for you guys soon!

Can you remember back to your most innocent years (2007, 2008 and 2009) when the world seemed so new and fresh and anything you dreamt was achievable? Well I’ve come across some audio from those formable years. Those of you that would visit my old site may recognize them (thus through reasoning we can figure those of you that didn’t ever visit the site will not recognize them.)
I’ve uploaded the 2009 “Lumpy Reggae EP” as well as the original sets of “Lumpy Demos”.
Despite our constant longing for those days, let's all hope we've learned a thing or two since then.

Happy New Year!
I hope you all started off 2013 as responsible citizens and survived the eve just fine. If you are here, I am sure that is the case. I had a most wonderful time playing music with the White Dads over at Club Underground in Minneapolis. So thanks to everyone that came out to that show.

The first Lumpy recording of 2013 is a cover of my good friends in Santa Fe, NM "Todd and the Fox". They have this brand new self-titled album out that is definitely worth a purchase. CHECK IT OUT RIGHT HERE. I also had the pleasure of playing on a few of the tracks.
The song I chose to cover is called "Sorry, Zozobra". Todd has done a nice little explanation of the song and has posted a copy of the original song. You can READ ABOUT IT AND HEAR IT RIGHT HERE.
